What are the iconic tastes of South Australia? A sugary frog cake? A crisp Riesling? Melt-in-your-mouth Haigh’s chocolate? Prawns from the Spencer Gulf? The list goes on…

We’re a foodie state jam-packed with award-wining restaurants, local producers and buzzy bars, and each of our gastronomical icons has a special place in our hearts (not to mention our stomachs).

So it’s no surprise that SA is also home to a unique 10-day celebration dedicated to food and wine – Tasting Australia.

Taking place in Adelaide and surrounds from April 13, the festival features a program of world-leading culinary experiences from award-winning chefs, winemakers, producers, distillers and local businesses, drawing food and wine fans from across Australia and beyond.

With so many amazing local SA businesses to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start (and what to eat).

With that in mind, Rundle Mall is offering a free taste of SA at the Urban Pantry and Cellar Door, and along with I Choose SA (that’s us), will also put on the I Choose SA Grazing Trail.

Celebrating South Australia’s top producers and brands, the pop up Pantry and Cellar Door, held at the Gawler Place canopy in Rundle Mall, is the perfect pit stop in the bustling city centre to sample a range of iconic food and beverage brands – for free.

On Saturday 14 April, for one day only, you can take part in the I Choose SA Grazing Trail.

A self-guided tour through Rundle Mall, the Grazing Trail will take you to 10 different locations, where you’ll receive free tastings, samples, and special offers. The Grazing Trail features locally-owned and operated businesses, employing local people.

So mark Saturday 14 April in your diary, come to the Urban Pantry and Cellar Door to pick up a free map and I Choose SA Grazing Trail tote bag, and get ready to hit the pavement.

  • Haigh’s Chocolates
  • Charlesworth Nuts
  • Just Bliss
  • T Bar
  • Foods for Life
  • Two Bit Villains
  • Bar 9
  • Lindes Lane
