Each year the gardens along the banks of the River Torrens in Thebarton are transformed into a Christmas display for all to enjoy in what is now an iconic South Australian tradition.
Scenes include the Nativity Inn and Water Wheel, a Ferris Wheel, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, the Red Brewery Truck laden with gifts, Vulcan’s Volcano and Moby Dick – who swims along the Torrens towards the Port Road Bridge.
This FREE community event can be enjoyed night or day, with the lights turning on at dusk each evening.
Parking is available at the Entertainment Centre (free 2 hour parking after 6.00 pm if there is no events on), or take advantage of the free tram that runs from South Terrace, through the city, along North Terrace and stopping at the Entertainment Centre on Port Road.
As well as the riverbank displays there are a variety of stands selling food and drinks, plus a few carnival amusements for kids such as a merry-go-round and laughing clowns.
There will also be 2 single portable toilets and 1 disabled toilet on site, as well as appropriate fencing around the area. First aid will also be on site.
The Christmas Riverbank Display is free for all families in Adelaide as a gift from West End Brewery and runs from 21st November 2016 to 2nd January 2017.
