'Tactile Metaphors' felt-making workshop by Fiona Duthie (Canada) @ Cherry Gardens Memorial Hall

Felt, surface design, composition….a beautiful trinity for adding dimension and depth to your felt-making, whether you make garments, felt bags, wall hangings, or vessels. In this innovative workshop internationally-renowned felt artist Fiona Duthie shows how to develop your own creative voice. Using texture and surface decoration expressively and a broad range of strong surface design techniques, create aesthetically pleasing compositions using design theory: focal point, line, balance, form and scale, and use these as metaphors to add personal narratives to your felt.

“Fiona’s Tactile Metaphors is a great workshop. I learned lots of new surface embellishments that can be used as just that or you can tap into your soul and use these techniques to express feelings. Whatever you do don’t miss a chance to work with this wonderful woman and artist. This was one of the best workshops I have ever done.” – Cherie C, previous workshop participant.
