Film Screening | Les Yeux Sans Visage (Eyes Without a Face) @ Flinders University Plaza (Outdoor superscreen)

Eyes Without a Face (French: Les Yeux sans visage) is a 1960 horror film adaptation of Jean Redon’s novel, directed by Georges Franju, and starring Pierre Brasseur and Alida Valli. Brasseur plays a plastic surgeon who is determined to perform a face transplant on his daughter, who was disfigured in an auto crash.

This film will have subtitles.

This exclusive movie screening will be hosted by acclaimed French actress and director Zabou Breitman. In February and March, Flinders University will welcome Zabou onto campus as an Artist in Residence, where she will also direct an original performance ‘The impertuable logic of the fool ‘ with Flinders drama students on March 18.

Film Plot:

At night just outside Paris, a woman drives along a riverbank and dumps a corpse in the river. After the body is recovered, Dr. Génessier identifies the remains as those of his missing daughter, Christiane Génessier, whose face was horribly disfigured in an automobile accident that occurred before her disappearance, for which he was responsible.

But everything is not as it seems
