The spirit of the Riverland will be brought to North Adelaide when Twenty Third Street Distillery opens the doors to its new venue on Melbourne Street.

Designed to bring the stories of its historic Renmark location to the city, patrons of Twenty Third Street on Melbourne will be able to take an immersive 360-degree tour of the Renmark distillery by way of a virtual reality headset (after a taste of some award-winning gin, of course!)

“The space is a true representation of our Renmark Distillery,” says group venues manager, Renee Bezzina.

“We know many South Australians love the Twenty Third Street Distillery products but have not had the chance to experience the unique and vibrant environment they are created in.”

Opening on November 8, the bar will house 70-people and offer tailored guest experiences including gin blending sessions, rum blending sessions, cocktail master classes and immersion sessions with distillers and brewers.

“We have designed the venue to engage and educate our guests,” Twenty Third Streets Distillery’s master distiller Graham Buller says.

“We want people to learn about our rich history, enjoy our prime spirits and get to know our team and what makes Twenty Third Street different and unique for SA.”

The North Adelaide expansion comes just two years after the distillery began operating out of Twenty Third Street in Renmark, a century-old landmark in the Riverland. Since then, Twenty Third Street Distillery’s signature gin has taken home awards in the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 2017 International Wine & Spirit Competition and the 2017 New York International Spirits Competition, among others.

Ever dreamt of having a personalised bottle of gin? Here’s your chance – simply purchase a bottle of gin to drink onsite and the team will personalise the label and display it in the bar cellar onsite, ready to pour from whenever you visit.

Wood-oven pizza and a curated selection of cheese and charcuterie boards will be on the menu, while the bar will stock Twenty Third Street’s gin, vodka, whisky and brandy alongside a range of SA beverages from Bickford’s Group, the distillery’s parent company.

Twenty Third Street on Melbourne will open to the public on Thursday November 8, at 129 Melbourne Street, North Adelaide.
