70,000 South Australians experience food insecurity every month, and one in three of those will be children. It’s a monumental problem, and one Port Adelaide Power is helping tackle with every straight kick.

The Club has partners with Foodbank’s South Australian division and Energy Australia to raise much needed funds and spread the word about alleviating hunger in Australia. For every goal that Port Adelaide kicks, Energy Australia donates $100 to Foodbank.

Port Adelaide also supports Foodbank through events and auctions; their last auction raised $15,000 in just two hours.

Foodbank collects surplus, salvaged and donated food from around South Australia and distributes it to charities and community groups that provide meals to people in need. Foodbank South Australia aims to provide 3.4 million meals to South Australians in need in 2015.

Foodbank South Australia CEO Greg Pattinson told Inside South Australia the corporate partnership was incredibly important to Foodbank.

“Port Adelaide Power have been extremely valuable in helping to raise money, but also provide (Foodbank) with a huge amount of awareness,” he said.

“They have also been able to connect us with new corporate partners.”

Both Port Adelaide and Foodbank are members of Brand South Australia, which acts as a link between corporate and charitable South Australia through its Charity Pages program.

If you’re business or charity could benefit from a corporate partnership contact the team at Brand South Australia and ask about Charity Pages.
