They say nothing is as fast as the ‘speed of light’, but the rate at which this South Australian LED lighting company’s success is travelling may prove otherwise.
The continued phenomenal growth of Haneco Lighting is far from slowing since it ranked as the number one fastest growing South Australian business at the last Fast Movers SA program in 2014.
Fast Movers SA recognises South Australia’s most innovative, smart and fastest growing small to medium enterprises from a range of sectors.
In the lead-up to the 2016 Fast Movers SA program next week, Haneco Lighting reflects on business since its big win a couple of years ago.
“We were very excited and proud after winning the Fast Movers award in 2014 – and we’re still proud,” says Linan Geng, Haneco Lighting general manager.
At the time of the win, Haneco Lighting had just 10 staff. This number has now more than tripled to 32.

That’s not all the growth the company has experienced since it was named South Australia’s fastest growing business in 2014.
Haneco Lighting’s average growth, which was almost 315 per cent in 2014, has now at least doubled. Another phenomenal comparison is the company’s current financial year turnover, which is forecast to reach $20 million compared to $5.56 million when the team took out the Fast Movers SA 2014 title.
Due to immense growth, the team now has a second warehouse in Lonsdale, which became operational at the start of this year.

Despite calling South Australia ‘home’, the team has since expanded nationwide, with an office in Melbourne and another to be opened in Brisbane at the start of June.
They also have salespeople based in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Since Haneco Lighting’s Fast Movers SA 2014 win, the company has enjoyed an even brighter business morale and profile.
“We’re more recognised by local businesses and we’ve had the opportunity to promote ourselves as a South Australian based company,” Linan says.
Her advice to other South Australian companies looking to expand is encouraging.
“Keep your confidence because, despite people always saying South Australia is small, the employment market here is one of the country’s most affordable to start a business,” she says.
With an even brighter future ahead, Haneco Lighting’s South Australian pride is stronger than ever.
“South Australia has some really good brands, and we’re proud to be one of these. We’d like to see more local companies better recognised in Australia and, if we can present ourselves overseas in the same way, that’s going to be really good.”
